Instructor

Özge Selen Duran received her bachelor’s degree in 1999 and M.Arch degree in 2001 from METU. She is currently continuing her PhD studies in the same institution. She worked in various firms first as a project architect and later as team and project manager. Since 2003 she has been running her own office. Together with her colleagues, she produced works in a wide array of functions and scales. She is specialized in design process and management, interdisciplinary work and process optimization. She holds international certificate for BREEAM evaluation. She has been working with Öncüoğlu Architects since 2012 as a project coordinator. Duran teaches Architectural Design Studio and Professional Practice.

Goals and Objectives of the Course

“The course main focus is the professional aspects of architecture, by the professionals from various fields of the practice. Shared experience of business and management aspects, legal issues, laws, ethics of the profession, interdisciplinary nature of architecture, team work, importance of sensibility towards sustainability, public responsibilities ”

FORMAT OF THE COURSE:

• Seminars to be given by the course instructors

• Discussions to be hold by the collaboration of both the instructor and moderator students

• Presentations to be given by the students about predefined topics

• Common Lectures to be given by the guest professionals with varying backgrounds.

• Workshops to be executed by the students under the supervision of instructor
